This weekend was exactly what I said it would be, one to remember! After the Friday movie (loved it) (no pictures, dangit) with ten of my favorite people, I had a LAME Saturday. The worst thing that happened was Carter lost his soccer game. I think there was another game but I can't really remember what happened. I do know, that I did not see my friend Corbie at church, and I have a date with her some time next week! But whatever.
I had soooooo much fun this year trash talking with all you Ute fans! I love BYU football, I really do. It's not because of the Prophet graduation count, or the fact that it is a LDS college. It's because they are MY team. We all have teams that we love and have always loved from the time we can remember. I am a fan of LaVell Edwards and Bronco Mendenhall. I'm a sports loving girl who grew up with a dad who watched BYU football and 49ers playing on Sunday was more important than Sacrament Meeting. It has since changed at my Dad's house, (he has DVR) but I will always love BYU football. One year when I was 18 my Dad and I went in on a pair of season tickets. Blue is a part of me, and luckily husband loves them even more than me! So cheers to all of you who stood up for the Cougs and cheers to all of you who were on the opposing side and cheers to you (two doors down) who brought me U of U cookies, they were so dang delicious, but dumb.
You finished on top this year, we will have to wait an entire year for this much fun! (you do have A LOT of seniors, yeah for us) Thanks for the money Utes and I still think you smell funny!
This was obviously BEFORE the game.
I can not pass up sugar. We made our kids taste them first so that we knew they weren't going to kill us!
This was obviously after the game.
You're telling me all we had to do was sing Come, Come Ye Saints to save us from the Indians?

This is why I love you!!!!!!
No - the song wouldn't have worked. Because, by my rules, you'd have to add between the sheets which would make it 'Come, Come ye Saints between the sheets'...oh boy, you had to see that one coming, Rob :)
Missed you at church Sunday - truly - it would have been fun just to have an hour with you. Oh, wait, I'll get that hour very soon...
Love your guts even though you bleed blue.
Isn't that what it is all about? Good, clean trash talking? Staying true to your team no matter what? I too grew up cheering for the Utes, we have had season tickets since I can remember. But when you cheer for a team in a big rivalry like this your team will win some years and loose some years! It is all part of the fun. It is how you handle it that counts! There are some truly horribly nasty U fans! And there are truly some Y fans that believe their team is the "Lord's team". That is where it gets annoying. But when you can have a clean fun during the rivalry, that is what makes it the best!! Now if only you could have left out the last story in your post, I would have thought you were done with the trash talking even though your team lost!
Sissa - and because we hate the number 7 right?!
Corb - Sadly I did not see that one coming, but now that it's here, that was pretty good!
Emily - I actually am done, I just thought that was a cool story, and Alec and I thought the last remark was pretty funny! Of course I know that song would not have helped my Cougs Sat. The only thing that would have helped was your defense backing off. They ruled! Good Game!
I just saw your comment on Corb's site. LOL. I know who you are, that is why you are my most favorite person on earth! I am just as Mo Mo as you are, kinda, but it's been maybe a year since I walked the streets of Green, where as you, it's been like 10...I know you can handle what ever liquor induced miss-hap may come your way. It's just gonna be somethin else because your not a teenager anymore...i'm just sayin.
I can't go to Sawyer either, its our ward party as well. Yee-haw.
I love your guts!
Oh, Robyn....you crack me up! I'm sorry about Carter's game, but can't really apologize about THE game! Still, I think you handled it all rather gracefully. :)
Hey Rob, I just love your blog and you, and your family. I am sorry I wasn't there to back you up on the Cougs. That day I got your text I was down your way to watch "Twighlight", and go to Paula's bridal shower. So I had no access to a computer, besides you know how good of a blogger I am. You would think I could at least be a better friend though and text you back.
Love ya.
I know it's a little late, but I feel your pain. Not becuase I really bleed true blue, (it's more of a pale blue that comes from Greg being a lifer like you.) I mainly feel your pain due to the anger, frustration and language around my house when such games are lost. I will admit to wearing my BYU shirt at home on games days, and watching a few 4th quarters, but that's about it for me.
Next year when they win, I will be at your church to witness Corbie there as well.
