dear fairy godmother...

A new Lincoln Navigator....No, the insurance would be too high.

A new Coach purse....No, I'm not really in to that.

New Prada shoes...No, I wouldn't be able to walk in them.

A new hot tub....No, I can't swim.

A vacation to anywhere in the world....Nah, then I would just have to come home and do laundry in this -

Please, please, please, please, please!!!! Just these....

A load of laundry should not have to go through the dryer 4 times before they are dry!

A family of SIX should not have the washer that can only hold four pair of jeans!

I should be able to finish every single piece of laundry in ONE house!

I'm losing my - dirty clothes -MIND!!!!

So anyway, if you could make this one dream come true I would really appreciate it.

Sincerely,

'Lost in a Laundry Basket'

I hear you my friend. Nothing like spending all day to get one load of laundry done. At what age are we too old to take our laundry over to our parents' home to use their good machines?

Corbie said...

We have those machines in your picture (or something similar) and we still have to start the dryer over again. Go for the vacation - somewhere you can lay naked on the beach (less clothes to wash when you get home...)

KG - today I feel like I would have to take a load to my moms, my sisters, my neighbors and the laundry mat just to get it done. We are not too old! We are too old to do this crap!

Corbie - I don't believe you. You're just trying to make me feel better. I've heard the dryer gets done in the same time that the washer does. Spill it!

Here's hoping your fairy godmother delivers. We've moved so many times the past few years that I have bought three sets of these, and I can tell you that they are worth every penny.

Can I take this post to my blog. I have had the same washer and dryer since I got married. They were hand me downs then. Renn says as long as they work I don't need new ones. I'm doing laundry right now and I'm with you. Fabulous post. Good luck. I wish I could help with your laundry issue, but I need help with mine!!!!!

hahahaha, I'm on my third set of hand me down washer and dryers. I feel your pain. Maybe I'll try the whole fairy godmother thing. Anyways, hope your dream comes true!

I'm with Corbie. I have those machines, yes, sometimes you have to dry again! Vacation! Beach! Naked? Uuuhhhh I had a baby 2 months ago, MAYBE topless in my room. But you could for sure. I'd take a beach with laundry to get outta here! Saturday was awesome! You are awesome!!

I couldn't agree with you more. I also have to run the dryer multiple times! It's funny how that one little set back in life doesn't allow you to complete the laundry in the time allowed! I'm about ready to do the same thing...bring on the laundry mat!

ha ha!!! I am laughing so hard, loved the post. creative.

you are a great writer....and yes maybe new washer and dryers for Mom's day?! The only reason I have new ones is because our storage unit got STOLEN so WE had no choice but to buy NEW ones....and I do hate to say it, but they are amazing. A momma's dream. too expensive but now worth the charge!!

the only grossy thing is you use like a teaspoon of detergent, kind of freaks me out and i know it would to you to....

goodluck and pray for them to get stolen....like mine! xoxo

take it from a man who celebrated when he bought his first washing machine/dryer only to move into a high rise that had no hook ups. after five years of bliss we were reduced to the land of laundromats and searching everywhere for quarters...

then again, in a laundromat you can use like 7 machines and clean everystitch of clothing you own at once (except the outfit you need to wear to the laundromat of course)

I too, covet the washer/dryer in your pic. We have a mismatched set(both white at least!) because washer broke before dryer and new model was different. I can't stand looking at them be different.

We couldn't justify buying both new at the time so I am REALLY HARD on the dryer so that hopefully it will break and I can have that lovely set I am coveting on your post.

Claudia - thanks for hoping - but she didn't come. Now I'm hoping she'll come today and finish putting the clothes away! Why do you keep leaving my dream at your old houses???

Nat - We should have called each other on our laundry day! Remember that next week - we could chat instead of me watching tivo'd re-runs of 'Friends' all day!

Jamie - Third Set!!!??? These dang machines won't die! We bought them 12 years ago and they won't die! I should be thankful!
The fairy godmother thing doesn't work just so you know.

Kimmy - Yah, but you can stick like 28 pair of jeans in one load right?? Heaven.
You look better than most who have had a baby 2 months ago - you could totally do the naked vacation. Me, I'd rather use your washer and dryer while you're gone!

Diana - Yeah! Hi cute preggo commenter! I did the laundry mat once and it was totally worth it! Everything DONE! You should totally have hubby do it - you're on bed rest for heavens sake!:)

Tawny - A teaspoon of detergent... w h a t??? Can you use more?
Will you pray for mine to get stolen? Then can you pray for a charge card that ends up on the floor where they are stolen from?

Brohammas - You say laundromat, I say laundry mat. You say tomoto, I say tomato. Or something like that!! Mr. Smarty pants!
You really are the more intelligent one, I spend all day doing laundry and you are in and out of the laundromat in what, two hours?? Lame.

Nancy - They really are lovely, aren't they? Don't worry Tawny can pray for yours to get stolen too!

Sad! When I saw the pictures, I thought you were making an exciting announcement about your new washer and dryer... nope. Darn. But when you find a sponsor, can you tell them ours are like 30 years old? You know, the mustard color - I still can't figure out why that was ever "in". :)

Aside from the size of the family, I completely commiserate! My washer and dryer are now 10-years-old (which is fine) and have moved with us 4 times...6, if you include the time they had to spend in storage. They're tired and the dryer doesn't work so well any longer! I can't imagine what it'd be like with more than 3 people....you poor thing!

I am totally with you. I dream about rennovating my laundry room more than I dream about rennovating the rest of my pathetic house. Could you put a good word in for me with that fairy of yours?

Well, the only reason we're on the third set is because our parents each have new sets so we took my mom's first and then when Ry's fam got new ones we took those cuz they were newer then the ones we had and I past mine older ones on. I'm with you the ones we have now are never going to die, ever!
